Requirements for pictures posted to this Forum

To help create a permanent record, items being posted with a request for identification must have a clear photo showing the entire subject of discussion posted to the thread. These photos can then be used for later reference and for possible help in research by other forum members.

Although the Forum software will reduce large pictures to a standard size (approximately 1200 x 900 pixels), posting pictures that are more than 1200 x 900 pixels is a waste of the Forum's storage on the hosting site. We ask that those who post pictures ensure that they upload files that are no larger than these dimensions. Also, there are absolute limits for file sizes that may be uploaded—these limits can be found in the "Manage Attachments" dialog box when submitting a comment to an existing thread or creating a new thread.

For any Member who may be unclear about the uploading policy, all pictures must be uploaded to this site. Links to photo-sharing sites are unacceptable. Links to external sites are allowed for explicitly copyrighted materials only, and those links require clear attribution to the copyright owner.

In general, do not link to items on commercial websites. Pictures of SOLD items on auction sites or other commercial sites may be displayed on these pages via attachment of pictures to your post (unless the site owner expresses exclusive copyright), with appropriate attribution to the originating site in the text. Pictures or discussion of UNSOLD items on commercial sites are not permitted in the Discussion Forums.
