regional ethnographic knives from mexico.

these are called "desert knives"--"cuchillos del desierto"
there is a large array of knives made around the city of la paz.
According to what i can find there is still about 20 knife makers in this area making traditional knives, bowies and machetes.


there is also a novelty "pistol" shaped pocket knife similar to the pocket knives made in Chile ..

Yeah they are neat knives, people still use them there. So they are not simply souvenirs but still local market products
