		Inspired by Gustav's splendid sikin, I found that I still have some pictures of a rencong scabbard with inscription.

 I must agree Willem - not an original (or traditional) hilt.

 Hi Willem, 
	The first sentence is legible enough to be translated. It reads : "Sarung sikin (?) Tengku Fishar" or "Sikin (?) sheath of Tengku Fishar (Fashar?)" I hope this helps. I could not make up the second sentence though.  | 
		
 سارڠ (sarung / sheath) سي كن (sikin) تڠ كو (Tengku / Teuku) في شر (Fishar/ Feshar)
