D&L's Kris #285 11 Attachment(s) Posting photos per D&L's request. A kris with an unusual forging pattern on the blade. |

What an interesting blade! Almost looks like twist core in different places in the blade. Not seen a Moro blade like this. It looks like a Sulu blade to me and I love the pommel carving. |

Jose, you are right on one side of the blade is a large, long twistcore pattern. The other side of the blade appears to have longitudinal lamination so if this is the case it is certainly very interesting as it has a different pattern on each side of the blade. |

Good point Rick. I also like the tight form laminations on the other side as well. |

Jose: This twist-core on one side and a linnear pattern on the other is the first time that i have seen this in a kris too. I do have an old barong that has a random pattern on one side and a linnear pattern on the other side. But on a barong , because of the thick spine, you can clearly see that two plates have been welded together. This construction not apparent on kris because unlike barong both sides are sharpened...........Dave. |
