Medieval Knight's Helmet?

Just picked this one up at estate sale. It appears to be all handmade, including the hinges. The rivets are steel and some copper. (all rivets are all hand hammered) Helmet is very sturdy and is about 6lbs. Any thoughts on origin, or age. This is so cool!!

Welcome to the forum, Rick :) .
I would be not sure that this is a genuine piece without hearing from knowledged members.
Hope they show up soon ;) .

Hello Rick welcome and thanks for posting your find.
The helmet you have is a Victorian copy of a close helmet.
Looking at the style , this is a typical model that shows up more often and it probably belonged to a full armour made to decorate the mansions and castles in the 19th C.
kind regards
Ulfberth
