Two Gaucho Knives

5 Attachment(s)
Got these two Gaucho knives today....
I guess that these ones are not every ones cup of tea but I like them in a way and when I could get them for a price I couldnīt refuse so why not...
As you can see the the markings on the blades are:La Movediza Industria Argentina.... What I can not read is the markings on the top of the sheaths... Any suggestions should be very much appreciated.... I know that they are not old but when do you think they were made?

Best,
Stefan

Hello Stefan,

These are indeed modern productions of more traditional knives. AFAIK this company is still producing them, so they may be very recently made. The stamped area on the mouth of the sheath is very hard to decipher, but the second line seems to read "PLATE FINO," which suggests that the metal has been electroplated. I cannot read the rest. Perhaps someone else has a similar knife with a clearer inscription and could post a picture.

Hello,

Regarding the first knife, as the legend says, it was produced by La Movediza, a firm from the town of Tandil, famous for its moving stone. The metal of the scabbard and cape is 800 silver (800/1000) with gold applications. The firm never uses electro-plating. As for the second seal, it cannot be deciphered, and it is from a reseller.

Affectionately
