Possibly European barrel inscription advice please

I have asked for advice on this barrel inscription on the Ethnographical pages recently and hope that it's OK to repeat my question here.
My reason for doing so, is that among the helpful advice that I received there, are suggestions that the inscription has a European look, possibly Italian or French.
The barrel in question is on a Moroccan snaphance musket 'mukahla'.
The latter part of the inscription may be - DA ANNO DEI x32x.
There are more pictures included in my original thread in the Ethnographic section if anyone needs more information ... HERE
I do realise that the inscription may well be spurious and would be grateful for any input.

Judging by the spelling, i wouldn't see an European, even an illiterate smith, writing the year with a double aa instead of a double nn. Probably a Moroccan scribbling some spurious lettering ? :o .

Thanks for your thoughts, the three reverse S's in the first word certainly support what you say.
