Hello, I have been a long time lurker on the forum but have now finally decided to make an account and post some of my collection for your opinions and considerations. I don't have a proper "photoshoot" style setup so these are just impromptu photos of these weapons on my bed. Today I am showing a small, but hopefully growing, section of my collection. My three Moroccan daggers, one Koummya and two Genoui/Janwi. While they are not of a Sultan's level of quality, they are in decent shape and of decent quality. One piece that I want to add to my collection is one of the Tiger Claw/Hanzer Koummya with the sickle blade and lacking a ricasso. Thank you for your opinions and comments.

First, welcome to the forum, glad to have you here. Second, thank you for sharing these daggers, you have nice and genuine items. The koummaya looks like it has some age and the blade looks like a European made one based on the numbers stamped at the ricasso, perhaps you can share some close-ups. Do you have the scabbard for it?

The genouis/sboulas are both very nice. The top looks like it has a blade from a cut down bayonet, and the bottom may be a blade that was cut down from a sword.

There is a good number of threads on similar items in the forum, and when it comes to books, the best one on the subject is Erice Claude's catalogue. You will also find some info in Buttin, whose book is available for free online.

Regards,
Teodor

The koummya with the numbered blade didn't have a scabbard with it when I bought it. I do have some close ups of the koummya that I can show.

While I'm making my introduction I might as well post a photo of some of my smaller pieces, although I need to get an updated picture as I have added more since this photo was taken.

Welcome to our little forum!

Looks like a mixture of Filipino, Nepalese, Moroccan, and even a WWII Japanese tanto. Looking forward to better pictures.

A nice variety of pieces there, you must have been collecting for some time.
I think the Tanto is in a shirasaya, the plain wooden storage mount.

A fair bit of Philippine stuff as well.

Thanks for all of the replies! Recently my collection has been going through a period of rapid expansion, soon I will be posting more photos of some of my recently acquired pieces, along with the rest of my collection that wasn't shown in that overhead picture.

Finally got a good display cabinet. Putting some felt down on the shelves to keep the wood from getting scratched up. I'm still deciding which pieces will migrate from the drawers to the cabinet, and I dont have enough racks to finish the display but it's coming together!

My knife display is about 90% complete. Vaguely separated by region, with some exceptions made for lack of space. A couple of these items were purchased from some of the forum members, one has already been pointed out.
