Hi all, Recently i saw this Battle axe, in the hands of a farmer. Any ideas?

Yes, possibly asymmetrical double-bladed axe, the missing blade is flaring and narrower. 10-11th century eastern Europe, sometimes misidentified as 'viking'.

True, I think there is at least one art source showing this type in the hands of Byzantine warriors.

To me it looks very like the Byzantine battle axe. Indications of size and provenance (where found) would clinch it.
