Indonesian Spear

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,

I got this spear from the SEA area.
Because I`m not common with these I have no idea where it comes from and if there is something special about the snake pattern carving on the blade, which I have not seen before.
The haft is made from red wood.
My guess will be Borneo.
Could anyone help ?

Thanks from Dirk

Hello Dirk,

can we see the shaft and also the ferrule complete? This can give some hints. Think that it is from Indonesia or Malaysia.

Regards,
Detlef

By form I vote Indonesian, but as Detlef said, it would be more helpful to have a full picture.

Also - what an odd blade?!

The pamor pattern looks like a Crocodile's back .
New to my limited experience .

Do you suppose that what we are seeing here is a repurposed very coarse wood rasp ?
Nah ...
