Weapon for ID

5 Attachment(s)
Hello, folks.
I bought this item a few years ago, but I can't figure out what type of weapon it is and what region it belongs to.
At first, based on the shape and material of the handle, I assumed that it was an Afghan weapon. However, the shape of the blade and its point are more similar to Indian weapons. However, I have not seen similar blades.
Does anyone have any ideas about this subject?
I will add a little description: the total length is 79 cm, the length of the blade is 67 cm. The sheath is of recent manufacture.

Hi

You have some hilts like that in Northern India.

British and French were in Northern India, I guess your scabbard and the lanyard are from one of them.

Your sword looks like a mix between khyber knife and Sosun Patta reused by a British or a French.

I agree with Kubur. It looks like a Khyber knife with an armour piercing tip.

Kubur and Battara thank you for comments.
To sum up, we can say that:
1. the place of origin of this weapon is Northern India.
2. this weapon does not have its own name and is not a type of any particular weapon. Rather, it is a hybrid.

Is the blade made from flat stock or is it V shaped? Scabbard tip looks like the British 1860p bayonet in design. The old leather strap does not convince me this piece is old.
