was bought at auction in a lot of old weapons about twenty years ago. without any precision.

Finding 'identical' examples doesn't help legitimating authenticity; on the contrary... if you know what i mean. These things are highly discussable. Hopefuly some of our specialized members pop in with their assessments.

In the seventies Luristan bronzes were plentiful and relatively cheap.Comparing it to a genuine Luristan cymbol in front of me the patina looks right.
