With its 8 inch (20 cm) long double edged blade of a form suggesting intent for use as a spearhead (tumbak) and simple polished wooden mounts formed of fine burl grain, this may be a lading terus, which is a type of dagger used underhand and possibly derived from a short javelin (Van Zonneveld, 2001, p. 79.) The blade has a dark etched finish exposing a pamor (grain) reflecting a contrasting layered construction. Overall length is 16½ inches (42 cm) with a weight of just under 13½ ounces (381 grams).
