1065 - Nepalese Khukuri (Kukri) Knife with Sheath & Accessory Knife - Recent

This is a relatively recent kukri knife with a 10½ inch (26.5 cm) robust blade measuring 0.34 inches (8.7 cm) at the spine opposite the simply formed cho notch. The bright steel blade shows few blemishes with the main part of each blade face being concave. The steel appears to be very finely laminated and differential heat treatment appears to have been applied to the belly of the blade forming a subtle hamon. There is simple engraved decoration on the faces of the blade along the spine up until the forward curve begins. The dark wood hilt is fitted with a brass bolster and a brass cap plate with an attractive coarsely stippled decoration and hemispheric tang end or cap. A wooden scabbard with a thin black leather cover includes one small accessory knife. Overall sheathed length is 16¼ inches (41 cm) with a weight of 21¼ ounces (604 grams).
