This carved wooden club is 21¼ inches (54 cm) in length with a flattened spherical head having a maximum diameter of 4 1/3 inches (11 cm). The short handle quickly tapers down in diameter from its end and then re-expands approaching the head. Some carving imperfections are obvious, suggesting quick work without detailed finishing. Probably a variant knobkerrie from southern Africa rather than an Oceanic throwing club. Weight is 21¼ inches (603 grams).
