1036 - Fine Arabian Jambiya Dagger with Intricate Silver Mounts

A very well executed jambiya with intricately decorated silver mounts. The curved double edged blade is 6¾ inches (17 cm) long and has a crisply defined central mid rib on each blade face that tracks the curvature of the blade. The blade shows only minimal spotting and very slight pitting. The hit is entirely covered in chased silver and applied decorative elements on its display face including granulation work over the pommel. The back of the hilt is also decorated in a cross-hatched pattern. The scabbard of silver over wood has been decorated entirely en suite with the hilt and is wrapped with braided wire (unfortunately loose at the ends) in the central portion. The back of the scabbard has two rings with lesser decoration about the edges and towards the tip where it could be visible when worn. Overall length is 14¼ inches (36 cm) with a weight of 13 ounces (368 grams).
