1023 - Northern Philippine Talibon Knife

This small talibon knife or dagger is typical of this northern Philippine type from Christianized cultures. The single edged blade arises from s short ricasso and widens to form a convex 'belly' opposite a less curved concave back. A few rust spots and patchy light pitting are present. The hilt is made of wood carved in the typical 'flower' form and shows losses of a few small chips. The blade is 9¾ inches (25 cm) long with an overall length of 13½ inches (34 cm). Weight is just under 4 ounces (111 grams).
