147 - Kuba Tribe (African Congo) Ikula Knife with Iron Blade

A nicely forged iron ikula knife with a dark brown wooden handle measuring 14 1/2 inches in overall length and a leaf shaped blade that is 9 3/4 long. The blade has a central flat spine on either side, slightly offset from each other and multiple inscribed lines following the contour of the edge. A tiny brass pin is seen on one side of the hilt. Lew dated this circa 1900 to 1920.
