| The cross-guard of this takouba of
"southern" type is covered with sheet brass showing engraved decoration.
The surfaces toward the blade, grip and sides are of copper. The guard is
reinforced by two iron rivets with square brass washers. The pommel is of
brazil nut form, with a decorative copper band at the top. |
